Five Little Monkeys

My daughter loves this book. Probably due to familiarity from hearing the song from age 1. Also the satisfaction she gets as she thinks she can reads it herself. Add to it the stencil colorful pictures on each page. the monkeys bumping their heads, making faces. She likes this book so much that even the front and back of the book is not spared. I have to end it by saying – Written by Eileen Christelow. And after some 50 odd reads so far, she has by-hearted the authors name.

One time while at the last page, she said – Why is mommy jumping on the bed? I had a hearty laugh, she answered right away. Because the 5 little monkeys went to sleep!

Here is a youtube video:

Lyrics of the song:
Five little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

Four little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

Three little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

Two little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

One little monkey jumping on the bed
He fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!
